The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands

Situated in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands opened in 1995 and is an ideal learning environment for first-time skiers. The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands is a family and luxury vacation destination on 2,000 wooded acres in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania. From the luxurious AAA Five Diamond Falling Rock boutique hotel to the comfort of your RV, Nemacolin's six lodging options cater to everyone's personal choice with a variety of amenities.

Terrain

The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands is a fun ski area designed for families. With a 300-foot vertical drop, The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands provides the excitement of skiing without the intimidation that steep mountain destinations present to first-timers. The Beginner's Area sits just outside the Sundial Lodge and is popular for young beginners still trying to get used to their skis and snowboards. The Peak at Nemacolin Woodlands First Step bowl is large and perfectly designed for first-time skiers and snowboarders that still need to develop skills.

Geronimo is the easiest way to the bottom of The Peak . The mountain's longest slope at one-half mile, Geronimo is another excellent slope for learning how to ski or snowboard. Nose Dive, a short, steep intermediate trail, exits onto Geronimo's slope. Grizzly Run is The Peak second intermediate slope and provides more thrill than Geronimo, in addition to an incredible view of the surrounding Laurel Highlands.

The Peak's other slopes were designed to challenge experts. You'll know you're halfway down Cliffhanger when your stomach meets your throat. Showboat is an expert trail where skiers can showcase their talents in front of a large group of onlookers. Located next to Showboat is Glade Run, an aggressive trail with tree skiing and riding. Only the most daring skiers will battle this trail while showing off their skills.

The Peak has a 300 foot vertical drop, three lifts and is 100% illuminated, making night snowsports great fun.  The mountain is serviced by three lifts, one quad chair lift, a beginner tow and a surface lift in the snow tubing park. The Peak also has rental equipment available, leaving no excuses for battling the mountain! The "Yeti's Lair" Terrain Park, Snow Tubing, Dog Sledding, Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing are also available.

Off-slope Fun
Situated on nearly 2,000 acres, The Peak  features 318 guestrooms, suites, townhouses, and private luxury homes, including the AAA Five-Diamond, Falling Rock boutique hotel. Nemacolin is also home to the internationally acclaimed Woodlands Spa, 36-holes of golf (including the PGA tour-tested Mystic Rock), an Adventure Center featuring four-seasons of activities, one of the nation's premier sporting clays facilities - The Field Club, The Wildlife Academy, Children's Programs and more.

The four-season resort boasts an impressive collection of restaurants and shops, including Lautrec, the Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond European Cuisine fine dining experience.

The Peak is located in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands, which receives the state's largest cumulative amount of natural snowfall. Full of history, culture, and adventure, visitors to the area can check out Frank Lloyd Wright homes (Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob), Pennsylvania's largest developed cave (Laurel Caverns), the site of George Washington's only lost battle (Fort Necessity), and white water rafting on the Youghiogheny River. All of these experiences are located within 10 miles of Nemacolin's front entrance.
