Shawnee on Delaware, PA - Come experience the best of the wurst! Shawnee Mountain Ski Area will be hosting its annual Poconos’ Wurst Festival this July 20th & 21st with all the brews, brats, music and fun you could want.
With both Polish and German themes, the event will feature 3 stages of music, traditional costumed dance performances, pig and “hot dog” races, ethnic craft vendors, new “Bier Stein Olympics”- fun games for adults and plenty of wursts, wieners, kielbasa, pierogies and cold brews. Children’s entertainment will include the Puppen Meister marionette show, Brat Man living statue, rubber duck races, bavarian juggling shows and face painting.
Eighteen-time Grammy Award winning Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra will be headlining the event. “America’s Polka King” will be performing on Saturday, July 20th with his ensemble on the main stage. Said to be “not your father’s polka band”, the youthful, zany Chardon Polka Band from Ohio returns to the Wurst Fest main stage both Saturday and Sunday. Joe Stanky and his Cadets from Pennsylvania’s coal region and The Austrian Boys from Connecticut will round out Saturday’s indoor stage performers. Eddie Derwin and the Polka Naturals as well as the Adler Family Band and the One Man Polka Band will join the lineup on Sunday, July 21st. Other entertainment will include Ron von Akkordeon-Darsteller, the strolling Accordion Player, the Janosik Polish Dance Ensemble from Philadelphia, PA on Saturday and the HSV Bavaria Dancers from Connecticut on Sunday. Make sure to bring your lederhosen, beir steins and dancing shoes!
The festival will be held rain or shine. Advanced Festival Admission Tickets, Adults $12 and Children ages 5 – 12 $10, age 4 and under FREE, are now on sale.
