Cheese Rolling Contest Returns For A Second Year - Free Contest Entry For Media

MACUNGIE, PA. – The Lehigh Valley’s only Cheese Rolling contest will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2pm at Bear Creek Mountain Resort and Conference Center on the bank above the pond. The contest will be held in combination with the Cheese, Garlic and Summer Mountain Festival, running from noon-5pm.  Both events will be held rain or shine.

Participants will race after a wheel of cheese that is rolled down a hill. The first competitor to catch the cheese, wins the competition and the cheese. This event is modeled after the Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling in England.

 All participants must register for the contest on August 19 between the hours of noon and 1:30pm outdoors at the Bear Creek tent. Participants must have a Cheese, Garlic & Summer Mountain festival ticket to register for the contest.

 Adult tickets are available for $8. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to enter and must sign a liability release. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.bcmountainresort.com or over the phone at 1-866-754-2822. Tickets will be sold at the gate on the day of the event.
