SEVEN SPRINGS MOUNTAIN RESORT OPENS SATURDAY
SEVEN SPRINGS, Pa., Dec. 2, 2010 – Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Pennsylvania’s premier four season family resort, will open Saturday, December 4, for skiing and snowboarding!
Initial snowmaking began Thanksgiving night and resulted in more than 10 inches of snow by Monday. The extended forecast for the resort calls for nightly temperatures in the low 20s and daytime highs in the low 30s, which will allow the resort to run snowmaking as long as conditions permit.
“Our team did an amazing job preparing the mountain for opening day,” said Dick Barron, Seven Springs’ Director of Skiing. “Their tireless efforts will provide our guests with a great beginning to a wonderful ski season.”
Seven Springs will open Dec. 4-5 with six to eight slopes and trails serviced by three chairlifts and one surface lift. Additional terrain could be added if conditions permit. The mountain will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., both days. Ski/board tickets will be $32 per adult and $22 per child ages 6-11 and will be valid all day. Midweek season passholders are also welcome to ski this weekend.
Snowboarders will have great conditions for The Rome SDS Premature Jibulation rail jam event. Seven Springs will host the event Saturday in the Foggy Bowl. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the contest will start 12 p.m. The contest is free and open to all snowboarders, but to be on the slopes, riders must have a ski/board ticket. Rome will be supplying a variety of prizes for the winners and great music.
The resort’s Snowsports School will offer group and private lessons. Lessons can be arranged by calling (800) 452-2223, ext. 7000.
Seven Springs also offers numerous lodging packages for the winter season. Some even include skiing and lodging for two children ages 11 and under for free!
The resort will close Monday, December 6, for extensive snowmaking and will determine a re-opening date next week.
