Hidden Valley, PA – Hidden Valley Resort’s fourth annual Spring Carnival is 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. March 10 and 11. Bringing a Rio flair to the Resort, this year’s Rio de Carnivále Market Square includes music by DJ Donn, carnival foods, activities, crafts, games and prizes for all.
Family-friendly free carnival activities include snow rafting, an obstacle course, snow golf, a limbo and hula hoop contest, face painting, coloring contests, snow volleyball, jewelry making and more. The “Amazing Rio Race” sends teams onto Hidden Valley’s slopes in search of clues that lead the winners to a prize, while the “Cupcake Walk” is a musical chairs-style activity where participants vie to win free cupcakes.
The festive atmosphere continues throughout the resort on March 10 with a Torch Light Parade on Cobra Slope at 7 p.m. The start of Family Movie Night Out follows at 7:15 p.m. with a showing of the movie “Rio,” which has a “G” rating. Live entertainment in Glaciers Pub features The Bricks performing 8 – 11 p.m., followed by DJ Hock until close.
The Hidden Valley Race Club is holding a special Spring Carnival Open Cup Race at 1 p.m. March 10. The race is open to skiers of all ages and ability levels and allows the participants to experience World Cup-style competition. Registration is 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. outside of the locker room on the plaza level. Cost is $5 per participant.
